I still have a little report of our trip to Mississippi to write with some fun pictures although I have not had the chance to make nearly as many pictures as last year where I had much more chance to leave my booth and even shoot some images of the people playing.
I had so wanted to see André Otha Turner Fife & Drum Band! She is the grand daughter of the late Otha Turner and I was really interested to see how she is keeping up the legacy of her grandfather.
Oh well, there is always next year, right?
By the way my guitars were quite popular and it did not take long for them to get sold, I am already working up new ones for the upcoming Gruene Market days this weekend :)
Hereby I leave you a picture taken obviously through a car window that needs some washing, of the early sunrise and the bridge over the Mississippi river, when we drove to Clarksdale to set up our booth...
The past weeks we have been working hard to prepare for the 11th annual Juke Joint Festival in Clarksdale Mississippi!
We are so excited to go there again!
I have emptied my camera so I got as much room for pictures as possible and the batteries are loaded :)
Today I am packing the car and putting the last finishing touches on some jewelry, I created some music related pieces and am quite content with them I must say!
If anything living in the Texas Hill Country is just plain relaxing with such wonderful wide views.
Especially this time of year after it has rained of and on and everything looks green and fresh, the live oaks are dropping their old leaves and have their little sprigs of catkins covering the branches now and soon new bright green leaves will start to sprout.
This morning I had an extremely special sighting sitting at my studio table, I had actually thrown out a couple of slices of old bread and all of a sudden saw some movement out of the corner of my eye.
Very slowly and skittish this slender little fox came over to the bread and it took a little while before it had all it's courage gathered to actually sneak a slice, all the while providing me a wonderful chance to snap a couple of pictures.
